Our Mana'o

Hawai'i has an obscure but beautiful law "in the books," and it is aptly called, "The Spirit of Aloha Law,"

"The Aloha Spirit Law

(A) “Aloha Spirit” is the coordination of mind and heart within each person.

It brings each person to the Self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others.

In the contemplation and presence of the Life Force, “Aloha,” the following unuhi laula loa may be used:
“Akahai,” meaning kindness to be expressed with tenderness
“Lokahi,” meaning Unity, to be expressed with Harmony
“Oluolu,” meaning agreeable, to be expressed with pleasantness
“Ha'aha'a,” meaning Humility, to be expressed with modesty
“Ahonui,” meaning patience, to be expressed with perseverance
These are the traits of character that express the charm, warmth and sincerity of Hawai'i's people and Hawai'ians abroad.

It was the working philosophy of native Hawai'ians and was presented as a gift to the people of Hawai'i.
“Aloha,” is more than a word of greeting or farewell or salutation.
“Aloha,” means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return.
“Aloha” is the essence of Relationships in which each person is important to every other person for collective existence.
“Aloha” means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know what is not knowable."

As well as the Aloha Spirit Law applies as being the Mana'o, or Thought, about how we have chosen to Be in Our Lives, so, too, do the very Tenets of the Art and Practice of Ho'oponopono apply. They are as Follow:

The Tenets of Ho'oponopono

Ho'oponopono is defined in the Hawaiian Dictionary as “the mental cleansing...family conferences in which relationships are set right through prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, and mutual restitution and forgiveness.”

The term “Ho'o” means “to,” and the word “pono” is as follows:

“...goodness, uprightness, morality, moral qualities, correct or proper procedure, excellence, well-being, prosperity, welfare, benefit, true condition or nature, duty, moral, fitting, proper, righteous, right, upright, just, virtuous, fair, beneficial, successful, in perfect order, accurate, correct, eased, relieved, should, ought, must, necessary...”

“Ponopono,” is defined as “to put to rights, to put in order or shape, correct, revise, adjust, amend, regulate, arrange, rectify, tidy up, make orderly or neat...

We teach and practice the art of Ho'oponono. We will follow the idea that we are a family, that we are of the very same Soul Tribe, and that if there is something amiss within the Tribe, then it will be up to that Tribe to correct within it the imbalance which is caused by human folly.

These are the laws by which Ho'oponopono
Shall be Practiced within this This Tribe

Knowing when to say “I'm Sorry.”
Knowing that it is imperative to ask for forgiveness
“Please, Forgive Me.”
Knowing that in order to make things right, that it is important to let the person know and to say “I Love You.”
Always remaining grateful and never forgetting to say “Thank You,” and to live in that very same light and according to these, the Higher Soul of the Art and Practice of Ho'oponopono. Amene...
